Bid Package for 2014 Road Resurfacing Program

Purpose/Need: Resurfacing our existing county roads and various township and municipal roads to improve the safety of the motoring public.
Action Necessary: Advertisement of Legal notice to obtain bids for the resurfacing of roads. Advertising for a total of 2 weeks with the legal notice advertised on August 7th and also placed on the County website. Bid opening to be on August 21st, 2014.
History of Project: This project is our annual resurfacing program. The”plans”, as defined in section 200.1 of the General Provisions, are included in section V of the Bid Documents. Various agreements have been entered into between the Board of County Commissioners and various townships and municipalities. These additional roads are also included in our bid package. The following is a list of included townships and municipalities that are included with associated costs:
Village of Amelia: $42,379.65
Batavia Township: $198,260.00
City of Milford: $147,781.39
**Goshen Township: $59,839.15
Ohio Township: $70,212.30
Miami Township: $1,074,476.10
Village of Owensville: $14,954.35
Village of New Richmond: $71,371.00
Pierce Township: $223,338.90
Union Township: $338,070.60
Village of Williamsburg: $53,944.15
**Goshen Township had submitted an executed resolution and agreement to our office and was not approved by assistant prosecutor Allan Edwards. Allan cited ORC code 5571.15(A) which requires a unanimous vote. Their meeting only had two of the three trustees present at the meeting. Allan has agreed to allow the roads for Goshen Township to be included in our bid package contingent upon receiving a properly executed resolution and agreement by Goshen Township Trustees prior to the bid opening. If the required documentation is not delivered prior to the bid opening, their roads will be non-performed.
Costs: The estimated construction cost is $3,302,658.09. This project will be funded with MVG funds and from various townships and municipalities listed above.
Expected Outcomes: Resurfacing and repair of approximately 30 miles of Roadway.
Time Period: The completion date for this project is set at November 28, 2014
