PURPOSE/NEED:

This project will replace the Marathon Edenton Road Bridge (C82-5.68), located in Wayne Township.

ACTION NECESSARY:

Advertisement of Legal notice to obtain bids on Bid Express for this bridge project. The legal notice will be advertised in the Clermont Sun on August 27, 2026, and will be placed on the County website. Bid opening to be on September 17, 2026.

HISTORY OF PROJECT:

The bridge will be replaced using a 4-sided concrete box with new wingwalls. An application was filed with OPWC in September of 2024. The OPWC application and agreement authorization was approved by the Board on 8/9/2024, and the County Engineer executed the Grant Agreement on July 1, 2025.

COSTS:

Engineer’s Estimate $398,105.00

The project will be paid for using a combination of OPWC (69%) and MVG (31%) funds

EXPECTED OUTCOMES:

Replacement of the existing bridge and removal of any load restrictions.

TIME PERIOD:

Project is to be completed by May 28, 2027.
