The Highway Operations division is responsible for operations and maintenance of county roads and bridges. Activities include snow/ice control, bridge repair/replacements, culvert repair/replacement, ditching and drainage of roadsides, pavement markings, pothole patching, berming, guardrail installation/replacement, mowing, brush and weed control within the county road right of way, traffic signals/sign maintenance and maintenance of the fleet of vehicles and equipment utilized for the operation.

The Engineering division is responsible for the various aspects of planning, design, right-of way acquisition, utility relocations, construction contract management, construction inspection, grant application and management related to the construction and reconstruction of county roads and bridges; traffic engineering and operations, subdivision plan reviews and inspections of infrastructure, utility permit reviews, driveway permit inspections, special haul permit review, road atlas preparation, and website/social media maintenance for the County Engineer office.
